LETS GET STARTED
NOTE: DO NOT PRE-WASH FABRIC.
| |
1.
Cut fabric 21 inches in length for a heavier fabric and 22 inches for light weight fabric, making sure it is square and even on all sides. |

|
2.
Press fabric, making sure iron setting is correct for fabric type.
Press under 1/2 inch on top and bottom for lightweight fabric. If using heavier weight fabric, leave as is and cover all raw edges with gimp or ribbon after step 7 is complete.
Fold fabric in half by width (fabric is 54-60 inches wide).
Mark center point on back of fabric at top and bottom with pencil or fabric marker. |

|
3.
Run a line of glue just below black lines on back of Cornice Board. Let set 3-5 minutes.
Place Cornice Board face down on top of fabric, centering it.
At center line on bottom back of Cornice Board, match the center point on fabric and press in place with fingers working out to sides, making sure fabric just covers the black lines.
|
 |
4.
Gently pull fabric over the face of the Cornice Board to the top making sure all fullness is smoothed out, so there are no creases or sags in fabric. Fabric will dictate glue line on top of Cornice Board. Starting at center work your way to 3 inches from each end of Cornice. Notice black grid lines on top of Cornice. Later if you desire to add jabots or layers of other fabric it will make it easier and quicker.
5.
On sides, gently pull fabric to back of cornice and glue in place. |
 |
6.
On top ends of Cornice finish out as you would finish the ends of a gift when wrapping, gluing in place as you go. |
 |
7.
On bottom sides pull fabric even with fabric on bottom back Cornice Board and glue in place. Barely fold in corners to give neat appearance. |
| |
8.
If you desire you can glue trim in desired position on top or bottom. |
| |
After 24 hours, make sure fabric and trim have adhered securely.
READY TO HANG! |
| |
1.
Hang them about 5 inches above window or your preference making your walls appear taller and your room bigger, make sure it covers all hardware on your windows such as blinds or shades when they are raised up.
|
 |
2.
Find the studs in wall above window. They are usually about an inch from the inside edge of window casing on each side above window facing. Using two screws provided, place screws in holes in L-Bracket and screw into studs with the top of L-Bracket turned out away from wall. (it is easier to screw in stud if you start a small hole first.) Repeat these steps for installing L-bracket on the other side. Find where the Cornice will sit on L-Brackets and this is the place you will press the 2 inch velcro firmly in position on the underneath top of Cornice Board after you remove backing from velcro to expose sticky back. Make sure sticky back of velcro is glued to board and not to fabric. Now place Cornice Board on top of L-Brackets and press firmly down, making sure the velcro on the L-Brackets and velcro on the Cornice Board are firmly attached to each other.
WARNING: THIS IS NOT A SHELF. DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING ON TOP OF CORNICE BOARD! |
